The History of Me

This blog will cover the history of me, Corina Harris nee Hill. I’ve always been fascinated about where I came from. What are the names of my grandparents? My Great-Grandparents? When did we come to Canada? Did we ever fight in any wars or make a difference in some way? Did anyone have an interesting profession? Just who are all these people that helped make me who I am?

On top of interviewing my living relatives for any information they can provide, for the past several years I have been using ancestry.ca to plot my family tree. The furthest back I’ve reached is my 12th great grandfather Thomas Willson who was born in 1564 in Windsor, Berkshire, England. He came to North America and died in Prince William, Virginia in 1615.

I’ve discovered that parts of my family tree has a long history here in North America, where another branch, my paternal grandfather Albert Hill, only arrived in 1908 on the ship Lake Manitoba. Whether we’ve been here a long time, or only a short time, I am really enjoying exploring where we came from.

I look forward to sharing some of the stories and history with all of you because let’s be honest, my ancestors are much more fascinating than I am.
